It was great to see the turnout at the awards night in Mumbai.

Congratulations to all the 4 players and the coach who were awarded at the Indian Football Awards 2016. The hard work they have put in paid off at the end of the season. They all deserved the trophies which they got. I am sure they will continue to work hard and win more laurels in the near future.

It was great to see the turnout at the awards night in Mumbai. Over 65 fellow professionals attending the award was great and I have always maintained the fact that for our awards night it’s the footballers who must get the priority. The attendance of the players shows how strong we are and we strive to go forward in the same way. I sincerely hope all you all who attended the awards thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will remember the same for a few years to come. As mentioned before we put in a lot of effort behind the organization but there is always room for improvement. If anyone has any ideas on how to improve the awards night please feel free and come forward. We will be happy to implement new ideas.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Bengaluru for winning the I league the second time in three years. Their professionalism is an example to every club in the country. Their endeavors off the pitch are reaping rewards for them on it. Ashley who incidentally won the Coach of the Year at the Indian Football Awards echoed the same. Credit goes to him for instilling a tough mentality in the young boys of Bengaluru. I can see Bengaluru only growing in the years to come.

The AIFF is also planning on having the 3 tier league system in India. This is big news for footballers across India. More players will be getting employed across the country. Our representatives had met with the ISL top brass and they had promised to take more Indian players in the squad from the coming years and I think this is an icing on the cake for us. On behalf of all of us I would like to wish the AIFF luck to carry out their plans so that more Indian players get a chance to play football in the top leagues of the country.

The association will be organizing an AFC C license course in Siliguri during the month of July. We do our coaching courses at this time of the year so that more and more players can participate and get their coaching badges done while playing.
